Shop Local Delmarva - It's our Anniversary!

One year, wow it went fast!
So we celebrated our 1 year anniversary last Thursday. In that short time our little group has made a big impact on a lot of people in our community and a lot of local businesses. That is because, that group is you!
Going back and looking over so many of the photos and seeing so many smiling faces, it is easy to see what Shop Local Delmarva is all about.
More than just a group on FB?
Our group was started to support our local businesses and our community, and that is exactly what we are going to continue to do.
Using our site we have built a great directory that allows our supporters, partners, and sponsors to feature their businesses and support what we are building with Shop Local Delmarva. We also have a free option so all businesses can be included here with us. And our group continues to be one of the best places to find the best local places all over Delmarva!
We have made a super easy to use events calendar that allows you to enter upcoming events and let everyone on Delmarva know. Add events for things such as community yard sales, community fundraisers, if your local Fire Department is holding a chicken BBQ make sure it is added in. Having a special business open house? List it with us. Is your church having a special event? Tell us about it and share a picture. Chamber having business after hours? This is a free resource for all of our local businesses and our community in general. I say free...most people and anyone in business certainly understands that nothing is free.
Investing in the future.
Convincing myself to invest in starting Shop Local Delmarva and expand it to more than just a group on Facebook was easy. I believe in what we are doing. I know from the countless people I have talked to about what I have in mind. I know with the amount of support we have from the community and our local businesses that they believe in it. I know from the team that is helping me that they share in our idea.
There are just a few people I have shared the vision of what we have coming and what I want to do with Shop Local Delmarva, but they are excited as I am, and want to support and be involved in what we are doing.
The team and I have spent countless hours working to try to make Shop Local Delmarva work, look, and feel the way we think it should. And we aren't done, we continue to expand and add new features and options. Our supporters, partners, and sponsors are helping us to do this and we are able to help them.

Community Givebacks
With this site we have big plans on organizing some pretty amazing Community givebacks. Each time I organized a promotion or a giveback, I would have so many businesses and people who wanted to support what we were doing. It is awesome. But it took a lot of time to organize these, and I hated telling people that I had too many or couldn't include them in this one. Even right now, I have a number of businesses that want to offer prizes or gifts to do something special for anything I do.
It really is amazing seeing that kind of support. Our group has been involved in so many things to support our community heroes and recognize special people in our community. Our supporters, partners, and sponsors are going to help us have a lot more planned in the future.
Be involved, be part of it.
Each week we are adding more and more businesses to our directory. Each week we are adding more supporters, partners, and sponsors.
We have ways for each and every business to be involved in what we are doing and building. Our community rallied behind our local businesses, our businesses rallied behind our community. And Shop Local Delmarva will continue to highlight the wonderful things all over Delmarva. We will continue to share all of the positive things about our local businesses. And will continue giving back to our community and have big plans for that in a big way.
