You may have heard the buzz from May 2021’s local production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. at the Mar-Va Theater in Pocomoke, Md. Guests came from hundreds of miles away to be swept off to Arendelle, and were entranced in the magic of live theater.

After six sold-out shows (a total of 1,200 tickets to a half-capacity crowd), there just wasn’t enough room or time for everyone to see this amazing show by the Theater Academy of Delmarva. For Director Mary Love Mahler, what started as a small way to “keep theater in her life” has grown from 5 kids into a full-blown company of 55 students. Now multiple productions per year showcase local kids ages 8-18 in large-scale performances that are wowing the crowds.

The recent production was bursting with talented kids and special effects surprises. Audience members at Frozen Jr. were blown away, commenting, “I can’t believe this is a children’s production." "Is it really them singing? It sounds so good!" "It was a magical experience for my kids, and I was surprised at how much I loved it too!" "What a fantastic show! I feel like I’ve just been to Broadway!"
