Fallen Officer Memorial Benefit

Back in May I got a message from Cory Shaffer who asked if it was OK for a group including the Delmar VFW, the Good Ole Boy Foundation and some others to do a promotion with our group Shop Local Delmarva for a community benefit. Cory explained what their idea was and also that they want to hold it at the VFW. Of course I told Cory that we would love to help promote it and to let me know anything we could do to help.

So last month Cory let me know that the VFW donated their venue/services to use at no cost. That they still had some things to iron out but they had a date set and he would get me a brochure as soon as they ironed out a few other things.

Cory stayed in touch and later in July gave me an update of some of the awesome items they are going to have to auction off such as Ravens club level tickets, shower conversion kit, firearms, and some other items. I suggested Cory make a post on our group to highlight what they are doing. Once I saw that post I pinned it to the top under our announcements. And something really awesome happened.

Person in Hebron saw the ad on Shop Local Delmarva.  He is a Vietnam Veteran and is not in very good health.  He has a immaculate collection of die cast cars.  He did not want to just give them away. He wanted to use them to help us out.  So we will be auctioning them off to benefit the fallen officer memorial statue.
