If you still have any clocks that you have to change the time on manually hopefully you have done that already. I still can't wrap my brain around having to move the clocks forward and backwards year after year. I have heard all of the reasons for and against it and the pros and cons of each. It is one of the things that I really feel like we could just skip. Set it and forget it. The time changes just messes up my routine.
With the colder darker mornings it can get hard not to hibernate in the winter months. I always wake up early but it is really tempting when it is cold and dark just to sleep just a bit longer. Almost anytime I do close my eyes and go back to sleep I always wish I had just got up.
For me it is easier to stick to a routine. And getting up and getting moving sure does make me feel a lot better.
Speaking of routines. I have been pretty faithful about sticking with my workouts each morning. Now I had a monkey wrench thrown in recently. I have a love hate relationship with my treadmill. I really don't like it, but a few weeks ago something broke on it and I really missed it. It's weird how that works.
I had considered just getting a new one. But the thought of having to get this one out of the basement and to the dump was more of a headache than I wanted to deal with. So one night I decided I was going to see if I could get it working. The incline motor had went up on it. I rarely ever use that anyway...so I figured I would just disconnect it to see if that would work.
So after about 10 minutes of taking all the little screws out and pulling the cover off. I cleaned up the motors and belts, lowered the platform down and found the power to the incline motor. I disconnected it and turned on the treadmill. And it WORKED!
I finished cleaning it up and tightened up the main track on it and put it all back together. I have done a couple quick runs on it and so far so good. Now that I see how easy it is to pull it apart I might just replace the incline motor I hardly ever used.
After having this thing for 6-7 years I probably haven't used the incline to move up or down more than a handful of times. See what happens when you don't keep things moving?
