Giveaway

Local businesses put a prize together. One neighbor wins it. Every month.

Members of Shop Local Delmarva donate what they sell — a meal, a service, a gift, a voucher — and we bundle it into one prize. It is drawn on the 30th of the month. The winner is announced in the group and texted the same day.

Entries open when the app does

The giveaway runs through the Shop Local Delmarva app, and the app is not open yet. Entry is paused until it is. We will announce the first draw in the Facebook group the day the app opens.

You do not have to be in the Facebook group

The group is where we announce it and where 17,400 neighbors talk. It is worth joining. It is not a condition of entry, and it never will be.

The rules, in plain words

• No purchase, ever. The app is free. Entry is free. Nothing you buy changes your odds.
• An active app account is required to win. Entries from numbers with no account are kept but not drawn.
• One winner per household per month. If your household has already won this month, the next name is drawn.
• One entry per person per month. Entering twice does not double your odds; duplicates are merged.
• Drawn on the 30th, at random, from eligible entries.
• We contact the winner by text on the number entered. If we cannot reach them within five days, we draw again.
• Prizes are what they are. No cash alternative, and prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred.
• 18 or older, and living on the Delmarva Peninsula.
• Staff, and the family of staff, cannot win. Donating businesses can enter.
• Your number is not sold. Not to the donating businesses, not to anyone. Ticking the text box is optional and is not a condition of entry.
• Leave any time. Reply STOP to any message, or call and ask to be removed. We do it without argument.
