Text and Direct Messaging

Something the other day happened and I was like that is what I am going to do my Monday morning Blog on. Just like everyone I get a number of text and DMs. I do try to make sure to respond to them and honestly at times it can get annoying depending on what it is.

Lately I have been getting more and more sales pitch types of things sent to me. It is really strange because most of these are from people I am not friends with and I certainly have not given them my phone number. In my humble opinion this can be such a turn off.

Don't get Blocked

So the other day while I was responding to a message I got another one. And it was about this topic. A member told me about messages she was getting from someone on the group regarding specials and offers. Marketing and follow up is really important but more and more places are using automation to do this. It is so generic and not personalized at all. I even have a form of this for email communication that we do use for some things. This is more of a reminder service and not intended to act like it is really us calling or messaging you. That can be beneficial for existing customers, but when you do not have a relationship with that person it is much different. I am sure others may disagree, but I just can't wrap my head around it. To me it is annoying.

It is one thing if people are asking about services and you want to shoot them a message but to just start shooting people messages that are you are not even friends with messages is a bit much. I mean on another group I am in they pick on new insurance people who try this tactic. It is really unsuccessful and a major turn off. It is kind of like who in the world are you? And could even end up with you being blocked by them.
