Shop Local Delmarva - Big things to come!

Some big things in the works.

Shop Local Delmarva is special, and I hear that daily. I love when someone starts telling me something great they found or saw on the group. And when they talk about the group or what we are doing with the website, I do something that is hard for me ... I listen!

I hear so many wonderful ideas. They might not even know that something they said sparked an idea in my mind.

You have my wheels turning!

This whole site has come from the comments, ideas, and suggestions from people in our community, from our local business owners. And the best thing about it is, we aren't done. We are still developing new and exciting things that will help us do amazing things for our community.

A comment from a post that I did in the beginning of the group gave me an idea of something I wanted to try to do or put together. I knew it wouldn't be easy to get that going, but really that wasn't the reason I never pursued it. I really felt that I just wouldn't be able to do enough. But I still wanted to figure out a way, and have been discussing it for a long time. 

I have thought about it for months ... well actually close to a year now! A way of doing something special for a special group of people. And I am going to tell everyone, this site has put the wheels in motion to do what so many people have wanted to do for quite some time. It is community related, and it makes me feel great just thinking about it.  AND you know, I am not going to tell you yet!

Local Businesses and our Community.

They go hand and hand. One can't survive without the other. And Shop Local Delmarva has shown time and time again how everything comes back around full circle. Our community supporting businesses, our businesses giving back to our community. Our group on Facebook was just the beginning.

How can you help?

Support our local businesses that you see supporting our community. Support the businesses you see featured here. Support the many people and their businesses who are sharing and making videos and blogs here with us. And SHARE them!

Use the directory. When I say it is growing, we have businesses added daily. Use our community calendar. Add events, and most important SHARE them.

Tell everyone you know about Shop Local Delmarva and the exciting things we are doing and have going on here on our site. And remember, if you see the Shop Local Delmarva sticker, take a pic and tag the business on the group. Then tell us about your positive experiences.

To our local business owners.

Feature your business with us on our new site. What we are doing is different, and the members of our group are supporting the businesses they see on our group, and are coming over to our website. We have some big things in the works. If you want to have your business included, give me a call or shoot me a message to discuss.

It's funny, I know how it is. I know exactly what will happen as soon as I go live with what we are doing. I will have 20 people contact me and want to be part of it. It happens each and every time I do a promotion or anything.

The next couple of things that we have planned are special, and we are going to be selective about who we include in them. I am going to reach out to a couple people who have really been a major part of not only building the group but have been a sounding board for a number of ideas that I have had all along. Or do I need to show you first?

I love it. In a recent conversation I had with someone when I asked for some feedback about the website, I heard that our prices were a bit high considering I don't have anything to show them results yet. Now in full disclosure, I am not involved in the sales part at all. I just pass the information to that department. That is really not what I wanted to do and not what I enjoy doing with Shop Local Delmarva.

But I laughed a little and replied that we have options for anyone to have their business included for free, and supporters for $39 per month, and our most expensive package costs less for an entire year than what a number of other places charge for a month or two. I am not even going to touch the many other benefits that we have on our site and what we plan to do, but as someone who spends a good amount of money on advertising, trust me this is inexpensive and is getting in front of the right group of people.

I know the website is new. But I know the traffic our group has, and I know by having all of our local contributors, more and more people will flock to our site. And they are. And we are going to keep bringing more awesome videos, blogs, and information.
