High school students across Delmarva are invited to apply for a generous new $1,000 scholarship from Shop Local Delmarva!
Aptly named, the "Shop Local Delmarva Scholarship,'' this award is open to upcoming 9th - 12 graders and 2022 high school graduates enrolled in college for this fall semester. The scholarship is made possible by the Supporters, Partners and Sponsors of Shop Local Delmarva.
Students are invited to submit a 500 - 1000 word essay on the role that local business plays in a community. They should include an example of an excellent local business, and explain how a local business or businesses have helped them personally. We want to hear your stories!
This is your opportunity to highlight positive interactions by local businesses. Entries should also include the student's most recent report card or transcript and a separate paragraph on how the scholarship money would be used.
Submissions will be accepted through Aug. 31, 2022.
The winning recipient will be announced by the end of September 2022. Entries will be judged by a team of community members from Shop Local Delmarva.
Students in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline, Accomack, Sussex and Kent counties are invited to enter.
