Some Days

Over on the group we want to keep things positive and promote the good things in our community. We do not allow negative comments, or posts. It is a group to support our community and promote our local businesses. I use to explain this daily to a handful of members. But there is no sense in beating a dead horse and for far too long I tried to explain it so people would understand what Shop Local Delmarva was all about. Then I started to get it. The far majority that were on the group understood and the few that disagreed wanted to publicly disagree. So it just got easier to not explain things each and every time. And even though I don't bring up what I do or my business on the group much at all some days it can be like that there too. Where a large amount of your problems and issues come from a really small amount of your customers.

Now I know I shared a pic of my turkey legs that I made already but it is funny how those things made my day! The other week was just one headache after another at work. Things just seemed to keep piling on and it was one issue or problem after another. And even though I was trying to just keep it together and remain calm I wasn't my happy self. I am not going to dwell on it but sometimes it is a great feeling to wash your hands of a situation. It was well past the time I normally head to the other office and grab a bite to eat. I knew we needed a couple things around the house and I figured I would grab them on my way so I swung in to the grocery store. I was on a mission get in, and get out.

But Then

I can't help myself. I always have to go and checkout the meats and see what they have for grilling or smoking! I couldn't believe my eyes!! Turkey Legs! They had them!! I seriously had asked over and over and they never had them. I had been to several different spots and never had any luck...and here they were. They had my name on them. So I snatched up the two pack and off I went!

This bad day just got a whole lot better! Now I was looking forward to the weekend and I have smoked turkey breast, a whole turkey but I had never found turkey legs by themselves. I knew how I wanted to make them and I was already dreaming about how good they would be.

Early Saturday morning I put them in a brine. And I was planning on fixing them on Saturday afternoon but something came up and that didn't happen. So no biggie I will just make them Sunday. My daughter wanted to have one of her friends over and I said that is fine with me. I had thought the whole turkey leg situation out well. I had 4 turkey legs and well Erica doesn't eat dark meat. So two for me, one for my daughter and one for my son. Wait...we have company. Do you like turkey legs? Yes? There went my extra turkey leg!! :) Seeing them enjoy eating them made my day too!
