Not a Great Way to Promote

I get a good amount of people that are unhappy with a post or a comment that gets removed from our group. I used to take it kind of personal and it would bother me. At times it still does get under my skin a bit. However a bit of advice I was given when I first started our group was delete, and if you need to block and move on.

Well it amazes me when we have active members who have been in our group for years get upset because they clearly broke a rule or it did. Now I don't even think I care. A good number of times their post gets reported by other members and the way the admin assist tools are set up it gets taken care of before I even know about it. However they are still mad because they have been wronged! So they go and make a post on their personal page about how bad we are but guess what they still want to be members of our group. A good number of times when I see that I just go ahead and toss them from the group. I mean why allow them the benefit of our group when they want to bash our group outside. But there are other times that I think after a cool down we can give them another chance. We can see how many post have been removed or reported. If they have been suspended or had any past issues. But when it is someone who habitually does things we are just tossing them out and moving on.

The other morning I saw a post that got a lot of views and comments going around FB. I couldn’t help it I had to read some of the comments of people going back and forth bickering and fighting calling each other names and all of the negativity. Gosh this is the exact opposite of our group.

Well the original post was someone who was disappointed in their “product” that they purchased and tagged the business in the post. The owner of the business did exactly what they should have in my opinion. Basically said we are all human and make mistakes and I wasn’t aware of the issue and offered to make it right. Actually several times. And even brought up that when the person called these weren't the concerns that she stated at all. Then it became more of a bashing session and it was apparent that there was no way anything would be acceptable he did what I would have probably recommended doing as well. Just block the person and move on with your life. Just wash your hands of them.

Well something I noticed on the post was a few other businesses and owners commenting call us or next time give us a try. Guys, gals? Really this isn’t the way and honestly you must not of read any of the comments at all! This person admitted they have used this place for years and always has been happy until this time and this is what they did after what they thought was a bad experience? Even after the owner tried multiple times they still bashed them? Is your business that bad that this is what you are resorting to doing? Personally I have been tagged in posts that people are having issues with another business. I’ll simply thank the person that tagged me and comment that we will be happy to try to help if we can. But I have never or would never resort to going to another business review and start tagging my business or commenting on a post bashing someone’s business like that and it was a horrible look for those businesses. And I know if I was following that thread which a lot of people were I wouldn't even think about calling one of those places.

Now the owner did something really smart again in my opinion and made their own post addressing the issue too. That got their supporters defending them and sticking up for them. That post had much more interaction than the original one, so way to overcome it.

Lord knows I know you will never please everyone no matter how hard you try. But sometimes you need to just try your hardest and accept that some people are just not going to be able to be pleased.
