DESCRIPTION:Opening reception for Delaney Huxtable's service project\, the 
 Mental Health Mailbox\, which will be posted in the teen room.\nThe Mental
  Health Mailbox\, a permanent and interactive installation to the teen roo
 m of the library. A Girl Scout Gold Award project\, facilitated by Cape He
 nlopen High School student Delaney Huxtable\, The Mental Health Mailbox se
 eks to introduce an effective coping mechanism and community resources to 
 help support the mental health of teens. The Mailbox encourages the scient
 ifically proven method of expressive writing\, to help alleviate stress an
 d improve mental wellbeing.\nThose who wish to use the Mailbox can write a
 bout what is on their minds in any form they please (letter\, story\, poem
 \, etc.) before placing it anonymously in the Mailbox as a means of relinq
 uishing a weight off their chest\, reducing overwhelming feelings\, and ea
 sing emotional stress. The Mailbox will be locked to prevent any tampering
  of the contents and protect the privacy of all those who use it. By writi
 ng\, one can visually see what is troubling them\, safely express their fe
 elings\, and consolidate their struggles. Accompanying the Mailbox will be
  various brochures providing information regarding common mental health st
 ruggles and accessible resources. The teen room will also promote books su
 pporting mental health every month that will be available to be checked ou
