Cool Runnings HVAC: A Delmarvalous Delight

A Cool Experience

As the weather gets warmer (I’m so ready for it!) you may be thinking about having your air conditioning units serviced or replaced. Cool Runnings HVAC is an option that should be at the top of your list. 

Last summer, one of our AC units crapped out (that’s a technical term, thanks) because it was old and it was its time to go. In people years, 30+ is young. In AC years, that’s old as dirt. I knew we needed to get this taken care of stat, because I’m not built to sweat while sitting still.

So I reached out to three local HVAC companies recommended on the Shop Local Delmarva Group. I was looking for a few key things in my search for the company I’d use: I wanted someone who’d discuss my options with me, not talk down to me since I’m a woman, take our needs/house into consideration—we live in a very modest property, we don’t need to spend $10,000 on an AC unit—give me fair quotes or options for pricing, and do the work and communication in a professional, timely manner. 

Getting Estimates

In order to tell you why Cool Runnings is excellent, it serves to highlight that I did shop around and how Cool Runnings stood out.

The first option was a disappointing no-go. Though a popular choice for many local residents, my experience wasn’t favorable. They didn’t ask me any questions about what we were looking for or discuss options, they simply sent an estimate for three extremely high-priced options, two of which were not within the parameters of what we were looking for—but they didn’t know that, because they never had a conversation with me!

The second option did come out and look at our unit, and let’s just say it was a terrible experience and I’ll generously leave it at that.

And then there was Aaron from Cool Runnings HVAC. Aaron spent time explaining my options, explained why he doesn’t recommend certain things, and why some things wouldn’t work for our house, exactly what would be involved in the installation, a rough estimate of what it would cost, and an honest timeline of when he could get it done. 

Getting It Done

Using Aaron and his crew from Cool Runnings was a no-brainer choice and they were exactly what you might want in a professional installation crew.

They showed up on time and as promised, they went as quietly about their work as is possible with any type of install, they were unobtrusive, polite, professional and they cleaned up after themselves, leaving no signs they’d been there except for a blissfully cool house.

After the install, Aaron walked me through everything I needed to know about the unit and the warranties and made sure I knew to call them with any questions or issues.

And, when I had an issue with the AC (really an issue with our old house) that was absolutely no fault of theirs, they came out same day and resolved it for us quickly.

In short, my experience with Cool Runnings HVAC is exactly the type of experience you want to have with a service provider and, as you go into the summer and things are heating up, I can recommend Aaron and his team as a super cool business to work with.

Cool Runnings HVAC is a Delmarvalous Delight and I’d give them my business again.

(But as I do have 2 AC units, I really hope I didn’t just jinx myself that the older one will go out. Maybe there’s a repeat customer discount?)
