BulkMore: A Delmarvalous Delight

A Treasure Trove of Goods

When you walk into BulkMore, there are two thing that will strike you right away: one, it’s pretty big inside and so that means two, they have a huuuuge selection of items. It’s only as you browse that you realize what a variety of different things they carry and how many of them are things you didn’t even realize you needed.

BulkMore may sound as if it’s a store where you’ll find only things in bulk, and it’s true, they do carry a wide variety of bulk items, but in addition to being a bulk good store, they also double as a unique-goods store. A self-described "organic grocery store," here you’ll find grocery items for different specialty diets (gluten free, soy free, dairy free, etc), supplements, tea, spices, Earth-friendly cleaning products, chemical-free body products, unusual drink and snack items, and so much more that I’m forgetting to list.

The first aisle as you enter the store is the candy aisle and, if you’re anything like my family, this is the aisle where you’ll spend a lot of time pondering your choices. With everything from taffy, to a significant selection of chocolates and chocolate-covered items, to hard candy, licorice and gummies, this entire aisle is a sugar-lovers delight. In the pictures you’ll see some examples of the candy. And they even sell just the bananas from the Runts candy. The bananas are the best part. Don’t @ me.

You need it? They probably have it.

The next aisle offered me something I didn’t realize I’d been longing for: a place to buy bulk ingredients for trail mix. I love trail mix but am never quite satisfied with the expensive pre-made ones you can buy in the store. BulkMore to the rescue!

My daughter and I were each able to get inexpensive ingredients to make huge tubs of trail mix containing mixed nuts (salted for me, unsalted for her), pepitos, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, cashews, almonds… Don’t want to mix your own trail mix? Totally fine, BulkMore has you covered with a selection of trail and snack mixes in bulk. We picked up a mix that had goldfish, cereal and a handful of other ingredients for a very reasonable price. And another favorite item? Dried fruit. We picked up some dried star fruit, but there were also figs, apricots, dates, bananas and more! (I think the store should be named AndMore ;) lol!)

And, not incidentally, the awesome thing here? You can buy as little or as much as you need. I bought the quantities that I'll use now and some of my little baggies came out to...fifty cents. No need to buy a huge bag when you only need a half a cup!

If you’re a baker, the store carries flour in bulk, as well as other baked items in smaller packaging. I said to my husband, “The real test is going to be if they have rye flour” because we’d looked all over Salisbury for rye flour and couldn’t find it. Turns out BulkMore had it. Two different types!

Other bulk items that I browsed included a variety of rice and pasta, different grains, and my pets’ favorite: bulk pet treats. We snagged some peanut butter biscuits for the dogs that they were extremely delighted with, thanks very much. But don’t worry, your feline companions won’t be left out. There’s something for them too!

Your wallet will thank you.

BulkMore is such a treasure trove of items I didn’t even know I needed that I saw and discovered different things on both my visits there. But what really, really stood out to me is that I came away with several loaded bags of goods both times, and both times there was no accompanying sticker shock at the register. Because BulkMore’s prices are what I described to the owner as “extremely reasonable”.

If you’re looking for a local place to support rather than throwing your money at Amazon or a big box store, BulkMore has got the hookup for a lot of your grocery (and candy! Did I mention the candy!?) needs. I highly recommend making a purposeful visit here to check out not just the variety but the excellent pricing as well.
