These boutiques offer all of that and more, and each has their own distinct style and offerings, so you won’t feel you’ve visited them all once you’ve visited one. Instead, you’ll want to plan your visit to each and spend time browsing (and buying)! 

Lilac Clothing Company

Located in the heart of Downtown Salisbury, on the Plaza, and owned by locals Jennifer and Jamie LeCates, Lilac Clothing Company opened last year among the pandemic and has already become a staple of the downtown area. Offering women’s fashion, accessories and home accessories, this boutique provides a quiet shopping experience with dressing rooms, sizing assistance and, if you’re lucky, the occasional mimosa (okay, probably that was only the one time so I won’t over-promise on their behalf).

Lilac Clothing Company has a number of things to recommend it: quality fashion for a variety of shapes and sizes (ranging up to 3x), reasonable prices, and most remarkable: a willingness to accommodate their customers.

 As local resident Dom Sessa recently noted, “The kindest part was that the owner said my mom and I could call ahead, so we could shop when there weren't any customers. I miss shopping and the owner gave me an option so I could still shop and stay safe. It may seem small, but it's a huge thing when you're immune suppressed!! The kindness was totally an example of #KINDSBY!”

In addition to carrying jewelry, candles and more from local artisans and businesses, the store also plays host to local events, such as a candle-making event.

Lilac Clothing Company is an absolute delight to visit and has a constantly rotating selection of fashion. If shopping a store isn’t your thing, they also offer an online experience.

Benjamins Wear It Again

Benjamins Wear it Again stands out as an upscale consignment clothing boutique in Salisbury, Md. Owned by local Nancy Benjamin, this consignment store sells not just women’s clothing, but also handbags, jewelry, shoes, as well as some home goods, plus an assortment of baby clothes.

This store also carries an array of sizes, up to 3x, but also a wide variety of styles and brands at a self-proclaimed “fraction of the retail prices”, that cover a range of fashion tastes. First-time visitors can expect to find themselves wanting to spend time perusing the racks to find articles that match their personal style.

The clothes carried in the store are in excellent shape, and the care taken to select the pieces is clear as you browse and look around.

While I was visiting, I was impressed with the variety of items to be found in the shop, as well as the quality of items!

Pizzazz By the Bay

Located in Fenwick Island in “tax free Delaware”, this is a boutique that takes full advantage of its space to put small items in the nooks and crannies, plus on the walls! Specializing in home accents, accessories, gifts, handbags, frames, framed photos, nautical and Coastal décor, Pizzazz by the Bay also boasts items from local artisans.

As soon as you walk into the shop, you’re confronted by such a charming assortment of items that you find yourself immediately thinking, “I need to take that home” or “That would be perfect for this friend.” Every item is full of personality and perfect for a beach boutique atmosphere.

Locally owned, it’s clear this boutique prides itself not just on the variety of unique and fun items, but also on supporting local artisans by showcasing them in the store.

Pizzazz by the Bay is absolutely not the type of store you can hop in and out of quickly, as you’ll find yourself diverted by this cute thing or that eye-catching item, and the shop is packed full of items such as that.

I certainly wasn’t immune to the lure of the fun items, and while I managed to limit myself to just a few things, I could easily go back again and again and find more that I need (and, indeed, I have heard from more than a few people that this store is certainly one they delight in each and every time they visit)

The Sassy Girl Boutique

A surprise gem in small town Snow Hill, located next door to the popular Del Vecchio Bakery, the Sassy Girl Boutique offers boutique-style clothing, trendy fashion accessories and unique gifts.

Owned by local resident Suzanne Timmons, this is another store with so many items to explore that you’ll need to make sure you set aside some time to browse and discover what’s to offer.

When you enter the Sassy Girl Boutique, you’re presented with friendly, helpful service willing to offer assistance with finding the perfect gift or the perfect fit.

Bruder Hill Land of Ahhs

Berlin, Md. is one small town packed full of charming stores, eateries, and arts, and is an inviting place to spend a day wandering, shopping and eating. But one must-stop boutique is Bruder Hill, where they offer boutique fashion clothing, jewelry and accessories.

Each time I step into Bruder Hill, I find items big and small that appeal. I don’t think I’ve ever left without making a purchase! In a past visit, I was delighted to find knit hats that appeal to the sense of ridiculous via fun monster patterns. I’ve bought jewelry and small tchotchkes here and am always happy to visit again to discover new items I can’t live without. 😉

Sunnyside Shop

Last, but certainly not least, is Sunnyside Shop in Cambridge, Md. I first discovered this shop while standing in line for an RAR Brewing can release. With its door often standing open, this boutique invites you to come in and wander around.

Like the other boutiques I’ve recommended, they offer a variety of boutique fashion and accessories, and there’s clothing here for a variety of body shapes and sizes.

However, they’re unique on this list for priding themselves on being a boutique that offers “GOODS FOR THE CONSCIENCE” they state that they “strive to carry items that are made in America, fairly traded, environmentally conscious & hand made and we support companies that promote social & environmental responsibility.”
